The programme for Jazz Day 2026 is out now!

April 30 marks Jazz Day, created in 2011 by the legendary Herbie Hancock and UNESCO to highlight the role of jazz as a form of free expression that has contributed to equality and peace.

For 13 years, Jazz à Vienne has coordinated this event in the region. To celebrate this day, many artists take part in the festivities with a program that combines artistic and cultural disciplines. Bars, museums, concert halls, cinemas... all these venues host musical projects from the region. The goal? To raise public awareness of jazz.

Check out all the events taking place on 30 April in Lyon, Vienne, Saint-Étienne, Mâcon, Bourgoin-Jallieu and the surrounding area, as part of International Jazz Day! Whether you’re a jazz lover or simply curious to discover this music, you can enjoy a varied programme featuring concerts, a drag show, DJ sets and much more!

Once again this year, the François Ponsard Italian-style theatre will be transformed into a Club for the fortnight of the festival, showcasing jazz in all its diversity. As well as offering exceptional acoustics, the Club brings the audience right up close to the performers. Whether local, national or international, the artists will be performing there every night from midnight, with free admission, offering a fantastic opportunity to discover contemporary jazz!

From 25 June to 11 July 2026, at Jazz à Vienne, continue the festivities after the concerts at the Théâtre Antique and enjoy a relaxed end to the evening at the Club!
