Jazz Day

Jazz Day

Concerts, jam sessions, screenings: Jazz Day is 24 hours of jazz across the entire region, from Lyon to Vienne, Saint-Étienne to Villefranche-sur-Saône, Bourgoin-Jallieu to Mâcon.

In 2011, the legendary Herbie Hancock and UNESCO created the International Jazz Day. Since then, Jazz Day has been organised throughout France and in major cities around the world to raise public awareness of the virtues of jazz. The date of 30 April has become a fixture in the calendar for enthusiasts and an opportunity to celebrate sharing and cultural diversity, the values that define jazz.

For the past 11 years, Jazz à Vienne has coordinated this event in the region. To celebrate this day, numerous artists take part in the festivities with a programme that brings together artistic and cultural disciplines. Bars, museums, concert halls, cinemas... all these venues host musical projects from the region.

On 30 April, jazz spreads everywhere and at all hours, from morning until late at night!
