Samantha Fish
Fantastic Negrito
Chicago Blues Summer
Samantha Fish
This unique musician moves certainly with the times. The path to success of the guitarist and singer from Kansas City, now based in New Orleans, reminds us of the legends of the past, who reached the recognition of their talent through exhausting and intimate tours in clubs, but also the artists who became suddenly famous thanks to a concert video which went viral overnight. Regardless of the circumstances, Samantha Fish continued to refine her style by listening to the great blues and rock performers, like Freddie King and Keith Richards, but also her expertise and her uncommon scenic ethics by approaching each concert as if she still had everything to prove.
Line-up :
- Samantha Fish (guitar, vocals)
- Mickey Finn (keyboards, vocals)
- Ron Johnson (bass, vocals)
- Jamie Douglass (drums)
Fantastic Negrito
Fantastic Negrito has a destiny reminding us of a novel, like most great bluesmen. After having lived three decades of hardships and stared death in the face, this artist is a phoenix rising from the ashes. Over the last decade or so, he has been enjoying a major artistic rebirth, thanks to a discography which has led him to receive the most prestigious rewards and the recognition of giants like Sting or Bruce Springsteen. Fantastic Negrito managed to transform his (mis)adventures into a radiant music, at the crossroads between Delta blues, rock and current pop. With his magnetic, unifying and deeply moving charisma, he does not need any artifice to touch people in a deep and raw way.
Chicago Blues Summer
The band which will open this special evening looks like a who’s who of the Chicago blues scene: three strong personalities from different generations offer their experiences to play a lively and pristine music. Accompanied by his trio, the leader Stephen Hull, a rising star as a guitarist and a singer, is not even 30 years old, but he already spent half of his life playing guitar. He collaborates with the legend Johnny Iguana, a major pianist since the mid-90s, and the singer Sheryl Youngblood who already has a considerable experience in gospel but was very recently discovered by the blues world. This iconic ensemble of a rich scene undergoing a complete renewal always reveals young talents while maintaining a legacy which is always very productive.
