It begins with the discovery of a mini-album entitled Out of Time. It begins with an original hit “Bring It Back”. It begins with an amazement. Whose powerful and deep voice is this? Who can compete with intonations reminding us of Amy Winehouse, to name but one? Who is not afraid of singing a classic like “Dream a Little Dream”, while asserting her individuality and her style? You can listen to her on social media where she is quite active. You discover a young woman of 17 years old. Funny. Vibrant. Her name is Lila-May. She loves speaking English, she loves her brother, that she refers to as “My Favourite Boy” when she sings, she loves playing with her voice and her on-line community. In her family, they listen to music and play it. In her teenage bedroom, she nourishes her spirit with Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, but also Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. Her space has turned little by little into a recording studio for her first songs and an exploration of jazz classics that she listens to with delight before offering versions rooted in our era. We can feel she is hopping up and down with impatience to come and play on stage. And now, we cannot wait to discover her at the Club!
