Stranded Horse & Boubacar Cissokho

In early 2011, Stranded Horse (Yann Tambour) released Humbling Tides, an album featuring ethereal melodies that blend Anglo-Saxon folk, French chanson, and Mandinka music, where classical guitar and kora engage in a musical dialogue. After collaborating with Ballaké Sissoko, he met Bocar (Boubacar) Cissokho in Dakar, with whom he co-wrote most of Luxe, released in 2016. Having become his musical partner, the Senegalese musician has grown in prominence over the years and through their shared performances. The fifth album, The Warmth You Deserve, refined and spellbinding, highlights the deep rapport between Tambour and Cissokho: the strings intertwine and respond to one another with grace. Through these soothing tracks, the duo offers a moment of warmth and comfort amid the turmoil of the world.
