SopaLoca

The members of SopaLoca met during the 2015 summer tours. Between concerts with their respective bands, they made the most of every opportunity: whether at a café terrace, an open-air dance hall, or a village square, they discovered they shared a love for traditional South American music. The enthusiasm and warm reception from the audience reinforced their desire to share this universal music and the energy it brings with a wider audience.

Inspired by South American and tropical music, the seven musicians of SopaLoca spice up their repertoire with influences from all over the world. In this show, “Calle Loca,” the ensemble reimagines cumbias, rumbas, and salsa… and embellishes them with unusual musical styles. Exuberance animates the performers and punctuates the music with distinctive and offbeat choreography.
