Poésie Couchée #2 [FULL]
Poésie Couchée #2 [FULL]
Poésie Couchée #2 is a sensitive and original dialogue between a voice and a double bass. After three seasons of touring with a debut album, featuring singer and actor Xavier Machault alongside, in rotation, saxophonist Morgane Carnet and clarinetist Hélène Duret, this second installment, premiered in May 2026, delves into the richness and diversity of contemporary poetry. Xavier Machault immerses us in works that challenge conventions by offering a fresh perspective on the world. The program features, among others, poems by Jeanne Benameur, Héloïze Brézillon, Andrea Thominot, Laurène Marx, and Pauline Picot. Director Émilie Le Roux collaborates with Xavier in selecting the texts, crafting a sensitive narrative thread punctuated by her own songs. Alongside the singer, double bassist Mélanie Loisel offers a unique performance, oscillating between quasi-lyrical intensity and radical minimalism, while sound engineer Johan Caballé creates a soundscape—delivered through headphones—that lends itself to dizzying nuances. A dreamlike journey on a horizontal plane.
