Listening session with Rémi Gaudillat
“Miles en musique”
To mark the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth and the 45th edition of the Jazz à Vienne festival, the Musée d’Histoire de Vienne – église Saint-Pierre will host the exhibition “Miles Davis, 100 ans d'influence” from June 25 to July 11, 2026, from 2 pm to 7 pm. A major figure in the festival’s history and an absolute legend of jazz, Miles Davis will be celebrated through an immersive and evocative journey designed to explore his body of work and his era.
The exhibition features a section titled “Miles en musique”. Every day at 2 pm, a guest speaker will invite the audience to immerse themselves in the artist’s musical world.
On 27th of June, relive Miles’s 1970s with Rémi Gaudillat!
A trumpeter, composer, and educator, Rémi Gaudillat founded the Non Violence trio in 2003, then created the Docteur Lester brass band in 2005—which won the “Suivez le Jazz” competition and has released several albums, notably featuring Glenn Ferris as a guest artist.
As the founder of the Possible(s) quartet in 2012, he has developed an original repertoire across several albums (Le Chant des Possibles, Orchestique, Songs From Bowie, No Work Songs), in collaboration with Daniel Yvinec. He has also recorded a duo album with double bassist Jean-Philippe Viret (D’une aube à l’autre, 2018) and, in 2019, formed a sextet for the Electric Extension / Dans la Lune project.
At the same time, he composes for live theater (Orphée, La Fille de la Fanfare) and participates in numerous projects with the imuZZic collective alongside French and international musicians. He also performs with various large ensembles, including Bigre !, and teaches at the Vénissieux Municipal Music School.
