“Miles en musique”

To mark the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth and the 45th edition of the Jazz à Vienne festival, the Musée d’Histoire de Vienne – église Saint-Pierre will host the exhibition “Miles Davis, 100 ans d'influence” from June 25 to July 11, 2026, from 2 pm to 7 pm. A major figure in the festival’s history and an absolute legend of jazz, Miles Davis will be celebrated through an immersive and evocative journey designed to explore his body of work and his era.

The exhibition features a section titled “Miles en musique”. Every day at 2 pm, a guest speaker will invite the audience to immerse themselves in the artist’s musical world.

On 8th of July, Pierre Drevet will lead an academic masterclass!

Among the leading figures of French jazz, Pierre Drevet is one of the most influential. A versatile musician, a trumpeter, but also a composer and brilliant arranger, this artist, who is all too often overlooked, is a sideman sought after by the greatest musicians. A virtuoso with solid and consistently precise phrasing, his playing is fascinatingly clear. Acclaimed by André Ceccarelli, Ricardo Del Fra, Simon Goubert, Didier Lockwood, and Charles Aznavour, Drevet has also won over Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, and John Lewis, whom he has accompanied. The big band is also one of his areas of excellence: Laurent Cugny’s National Jazz Orchestra, the “Patrice Caratini Jazz Ensemble,” and the “Brussels Jazz Orchestra”. With a distinguished career, international concerts, and an impressive discography (more than 25 albums), Pierre Drevet shares his talent and experience as a professor in the jazz department at the ENM in Chambéry.
