Listening session with Patrick Savey

To mark the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth and the 45th edition of the Jazz à Vienne festival, the Musée d’Histoire de Vienne – église Saint-Pierre will host the exhibition “Miles Davis, 100 ans d'influence” from June 25 to July 11, 2026, from 2 pm to 7 pm. A major figure in the festival’s history and an absolute legend of jazz, Miles Davis will be celebrated through an immersive and evocative journey designed to explore his body of work and his era.

The exhibition features a section titled “Miles en musique”. Every day at 2 pm, a guest speaker will invite the audience to immerse themselves in the artist’s musical world.

On 3rd of July, Patrick Savey will guide you through the “Miles en images” tour with live broadcasts, documentaries, and live commentary!

A radio and print journalist in Lyon since the early 1980s, Patrick Savey played a key role in the growth of local media by founding and directing several radio stations, before helping launch Télé Lyon Métropole (TLM), where he served as host, producer, and head of music programming.

In 1989, he founded SDP Productions, a company specializing in live performance recordings and music documentaries. He went on to film major international festivals and artists, from Miles Davis to Pat Metheny, and directed several documentary series broadcast on national networks. Starting in 1994, he developed a long-standing collaboration with the New Morning, resulting in more than 220 filmed concerts and numerous music documentaries.

As the founder of Zycopolis Productions in 2002, he continued his work as a director and producer, capturing concerts, operas, equestrian shows, theater, and documentaries on film. His work has led him to collaborate with many major artists on the most prestigious stages in France and around the world. A multiple award winner, notably at the Victoires de la Musique and the Grammy Awards, he has been producing documentaries and live performance recordings since 2010.
