“Miles en musique”

To mark the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth and the 45th edition of the Jazz à Vienne festival, the Musée d’Histoire de Vienne – église Saint-Pierre will host the exhibition “Miles Davis, 100 ans d'influence” from June 25 to July 11, 2026, from 2 pm to 7 pm. A major figure in the festival’s history and an absolute legend of jazz, Miles Davis will be celebrated through an immersive and evocative journey designed to explore his body of work and his era.

The exhibition features a section titled “Miles en musique”. Every day at 2 pm, a guest speaker will invite the audience to immerse themselves in the artist’s musical world.

On 30th of June, rediscover Florent Briqué in a spotlight on the “Ni haut, ni fort” trumpeters!

Florent Briqué’s musical journey has been marked by encounters with some of the biggest names in American and European jazz, from whom he has learned: Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, the World Saxophone Quartet, Phil Abraham, François Jeanneau, and Eric Marienthal.

After leading the Lorraine Regional Jazz Orchestra from 2003 to 2005, Florent Briqué devoted himself to his various ensembles, notably the Sloth Trio and the group The Big Friche, with which he developed the use of Sound Painting. Florent holds a state-certified teaching degree in jazz and improvised music.
