Jérémie Lucchese
Jérémie Lucchese
Tenor saxophonist and composer Jérémie Lucchese, a 2023 graduate of the Paris Conservatory (CNSM), released his debut album of original compositions, *Essais Pour L’imaginaire*, in October of that same year. He went on to win several awards with his quintet, including the 2024 René Urtreger Special Prize and first prize at the 2024 Jazz Salé competition. He signed with the Fresh Sound New Talent label for a second album in October 2025, which was named Jazz Magazine’s “Revelation.” “An accomplished saxophonist whose music is full of enthusiasm and wonder. A sustained, modern, expansive tenor sound with deep and authentic sensitivity. Incredible ease across the entire range of the instrument.” CHRIS CHEEK. Through poetic and vibrant scenes, the group brings its landscapes and textures to life. Each piece evokes an imaginary scene, a journey from the intimate to the open air, offering an open-ended vision of a moment, a setting, or a character. The melodic fabric is colored by saxophone/guitar unisons whose unique light shines in contact with an impressionistic rhythm section. The music bubbles, transcends, and emerges from the magma of sensitivity that characterizes the interplay between performance and listening among each of its members through their interaction.
