Alongside his career in print media (Jazz Hot, Le Monde de la Musique), Alex Dutilh worked as a journalist and producer of jazz programs on France Musique from 1982 to 2025. In 1992, he co-founded the monthly magazine Jazzman, serving as its editor-in-chief until 2009. In 1982, he served as president of Jazz Action Paris Île-de-France, which notably established the Jazz Information Center; while on secondment to the Ministry of Culture, he became director of the Cenam (National Center for Musical Action) and later of the Studio des Variétés.
From 2008 to 2025, he hosted the daily program “Open Jazz” on France Musique. He co-hosts the program “Jazzland” with Jean-Marc Gelin on Aligre FM and is also the creator of a podcast series, “Jazz Collection,” which explores the major figures and defining moments in the history of jazz. As part of “Open Jazz,” he also produced a series of portraits of jazz musicians, based on exclusive interviews tracing their careers over the course of about ten episodes.
