About Lucrèce Andreae

Lucrèce Andreae cultivated her love of animated films while attending the Gobelins and La Poudrière schools. Her first film, Pépé le Morse, winner of the 2018 César Award for Best Animated Short Film, was enthusiastically received by the film world. Both tender and raw, the film depicts characters lost in the face of death, prey to the ghostly emergence of their buried feelings.

In 2020, the graphic novel Flipette et Vénère provided Lucrèce with an opportunity to explore her political ideas and her complex relationship with the contemporary world. It showcases what has become the author’s signature style: a certain freshness in addressing intimate and profound subjects. She is currently working on an animated feature film for children as well as an autobiographical graphic novel.
