A member of the renowned Kyoto Jazz Massive duo alongside his brother Yoshi, and discovered by Gilles Peterson, Shuya Okino is a producer/curator who has significantly contributed to the global reach of jazz in Japan, pioneering Japanese Jazz Dance. He is also the owner of The Room Club in Shibuya, one of the most active venues for promoting Club Jazz and Crossover music. In addition to his work with the duo, Shuya Okino tours the world as a DJ and has authored three successful books: What Makes a Good DJ, The First Book of Club Jazz, and Filter Your Thinking for Success. Following his solo album United Legends, Shuya released the album Destiny in 2011, featuring the hit singles “Thank You” and “Still In Love”. Since 2015, Shuya Okino has revived the Kyoto Jazz brand as a sextet, releasing two magnificent albums in quick succession, influenced by Spiritual and Straight Ahead Jazz in the spirit of the great Pharoah Sanders. Twenty years after their debut album, Spirit Of The Sun, the two brothers finally released Kyoto Jazz Massive's second album, Message From A New Dawn, in 2022, featuring renowned vibraphonist Roy Ayers and singer Vanessa Freeman. More recently, their new collaboration, both live and in the studio, with the Parisian funk band Echoes Of, propelled KJM into an unexpected and exciting new era. With the album KJM EOANDO, released in 2025 to celebrate Kyoto Jazz Massive's 30th anniversary, they cemented their destiny, masterfully blending jazz-funk, disco, afrobeat, acid, and broken jazz!

ATN is an avid digger of all grooves, a specialist in African-American music, recognized and sought after for his musical taste and knowledge. Having worked in the most popular record venues in the capital, he is currently a resident DJ and one of the programmers at the New Morning, the famous Parisian jazz club, since 2016. In addition to managing the booking of some big names in Jazz, Soul and Funk, he often works behind the turntables as the opening act for legendary artists.
