Yazz Ahmed’s sound is unique. She uses Arabic melodies to give her pieces a powerful cinematographic dimension. Her unique career on the fringes of countless musical genres has seen the Bahrein-born British artist play with jazz. The trumpeter and bugler has worked with Radiohead, Max Romeo and even Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. Her electro effects and innovative sound combos sculpt her very own world. The artist’s new album is an in-depth exploration of her roots. Alongside the best of British jazz, Yazz Ahmed blends oriental melodies, ethnic electro, thumping beats and psychedelic sounds to take us on a journey that we don’t want to come home from.
