Line-up 2003

In 2003 strikes led to some disruption to the festival organisation, so João Gilberto’s totally acoustic set was drowned out by shouting and various other noises that had nothing to do with music or with the respect owed to the performers. Another concert was almost cancelled due to the strike by the musicians from the Orchestre National de Jazz. It must be said that in terms of disruption, Bruno Théry’s festival poster had already raised the hackles of a few narrow-minded politicians. We prefer to remember the magnificent concert by Wayne Shorter with a symphony ensemble. The dream-like quality of the work carried listeners away into a better world.
