Courses & workshops
Take part in the courses and workshops offered throughout the festival — exciting musical experiences for all ages and abilities.
In this introductory short course, the focus will be on rhythm in musical expression. During five half-day sessions, through various group activities focussing on rhythm and choreography, children will become both dancers and musicians and try to synchronise their movements!
The full-day formula will only be offered by Club Léo Lagrange.

Venez découvrir le jazz sous toutes ses formes, mixé aux cultures groove, hip-hop et funk. Pendant 5 jours, plongez-vous dans l’univers du festival en travaillant un répertoire puisé dans la programmation. Le stage Big Band Groove se clôturera par un concert sur la scène de Cybèle le 7 juillet. Les participants seront également invités dans le cadre de Caravan’Jazz. Let’s groove !
The three members of Skokiaan Brass Band are absolutely passionate about their music and its transmission to the next generation and will eagerly introduce you to its spirit of solidarity, exchange, creativity and freedom. In this short course, you will discover several pieces from their repertoire, as well as arrangement techniques specific to New Orleans brass bands. Vocals and instrumental improvisation will also be an important part of each piece. Expect no scores during this short course — everything will be taught orally!
Lindy Hop is a dance that makes you happy! Jump back in time to the 1930s and come and learn the basics of Lindy Hop in a joyfully vintage setting. Discover Lindy Hop and the Charleston to the sound of swing. By the end of the workshop, you will be ready to impress friends and family with your moves. A quartet of young musicians will play for the dancers throughout the weekend and until the bal-swing.
JazzUp is an exciting and comprehensive summer training program for young musicians from France and abroad. Over 10 packed days, it offers full immersion in the Jazz à Vienne festival !
Les ateliers de la maison du festival
Jouer avec les bruits, explorer les sons. Jouer avec la voix, le langage, les premiers mots. Manipuler des objets, chanter des comptines du bout des doigts. Accompagné d’un musicien-bricoleur, un atelier d’exploration sonore à vivre ensemble, pour petits et grands.
Un spectacle de la compagnie « Une Chanson Tonton ? » avec Samuel Jaeger (voix, gestes, ukulele, trombone, objets sonores, effets).

Cet atelier propose l'écoute des musiques de Guillaume Lavergne pour réaliser une mise en graphie des sons et rythmes. Par cette écoute, les participants sont invités à se lancer sans raisonner et à traduire sur le papier l'émotion et les images suscitées par les rythmes musicaux.
C'est un temps de plaisir et de découverte, un temps de surprise sans commande, de découverte du calame (roseau taillé en pointe), de l'encre de chine et du papier.
