À propos de l’édition

In 1983, the festival was already up to seven nights. Lionel Hampton was looking forward to the meal that had been made in his honour at the end of the concert. An evening was specially scheduled to bring together Stan Getz with his first boss, Woody Herman. Unfortunately, Stan Getz had to cancel his tour and was replaced by the organist Jimmy Smith. The appearance of Fats Domino, and a gigantic Blues and Gospel Night (with six different groups) saw the festival embracing all styles of Afro-American music. In 1983, the music courses began, which were later to become the Academy.
