Balkatucada

Through a musical procession through the streets of Vienne, Balkatucada draws the audience into a vibrant and infectious sonic and choreographic adventure. Conceived as the grand finale of three years of artistic residencies for musician Stracho Temelkovski, associate artist with Jazz à Vienne, the Balkatucada jazz brass band promises to be a collective, festive, and deeply human celebration. 112 local musicians will be joined by some thirty dancers from Les Balcons du Dauphiné, led by Sylvère Lamotte, who is currently in residence in the region, to create a joyful and generous roaming ensemble, reflecting the bonds forged with the residents of Vienne and its surrounding area over the seasons.

Marked by a spirit of openness, this brass band, composed of several sections (instrumental rhythm, body percussion, brass, vocals), will echo the millennia-old history of Vienne, a city of passage, travel, and cultural fusion. More than a concert, it is a collective experience, a shared celebration, a work born of the region and carried by those who live there. An invitation to walk together, to listen, to dance… and to celebrate.

Stracho Temelkovski is an artist-in-residence at the Jazz à Vienne festival, as part of the artistic residency program supported by the Department of Isère. The Lamento dance company and its choreographer, Sylvère Lamotte, are in residence in the Balcons du Dauphiné region as part of the “Residency in Isère” program, in partnership with the Department of Isère.
