Aptēre

Aptēre is a duo uniting cellist Lina Belaïd and accordionist Antoine Girard around a shared passion for live and popular music, encompassing traditional, contemporary, jazz, Balkan, and musette styles. Driven by a playful spirit and a childlike approach to music and sound, the duo cultivates the wonder of immersing themselves in the present moment. Each musician supports and is supported by the other; the timbres of bowed strings and blown reeds blend and merge so seamlessly that it becomes impossible to distinguish who is playing what. Their sensitive compositions and adventurous improvisations reveal rich sonic palettes, captivating rhythms, bold harmonies, and a melodic lyricism imbued with oriental ornamentation.
