Affiche 2004

2004 saw the 50th anniversary of the birth of rock’n’roll, which is why the festival was opened by Ike Turner, whose song “Rocket 88” is often seen as the precursor of the genre. What’s more, this was another chance to see Chuck Berry, who was one of the stars of the festival in 1981. This year was also the 100th anniversary of the birth of Count Basie, who was also in the spotlight. In 2004 the Young Public Concerts began at the Antique Theatre with over 6,000 young spectators.
