Manu Katché hosted the live TV programme One Shot Not on French-German channel Arte for over 4 years. Musicians of all styles took to the TV to brighten up our sleepless nights with live music. This year, Katché is about to recreate this warm and convivial atmosphere for the lucky audience of the Roman Theatre. Manu Katché is an extremely talented drummer. Before his career took an international turn, he crafted his trademark grooves from African rhythms alongside French artists such as Michel Jonasz, Alain Souchon, Stephan Eicher, Laurent Voulzy and Véronique Sanson. His appearance on Peter Gabriel’s classic album So propelled him onto the international stage. Sting, Tears For Fears, Joni Mitchell, Joe Satriani and Robbie Robertson, to name but a few, invited him to appear in their albums. Since then, Manu Katché has returned to his first love, jazz music, through his fabled collaboration with Jan Garbarek, his own albums released on ECM records and more recently the brilliant The Scope. He is a passionate drummer and composer, who is always on the lookout for fruitful collaborations and determined to bring together the most gifted musicians.
