As in Thomas Dutronc’s case, Kyle Eastwood’s everlasting passion — for music and film — naturally stems from his family. Although his career has also involved acting and he even considered directing at one time, he’s decided to devote his life to music, or more specifically, to jazz, which has nourished him for at least as long as the seventh art. While regularly adding to his discography as lead or sideman, he’s composed or contributed to a number of original soundtracks alongside his father: Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, Invictus… It comes as no surprise that his latest album, ‘Cinematic’, in which he revisits his favourite film music, is a celebration of the two great artistic loves of his life. For this carte blanche, Kyle Eastwood will be accompanied by his quintet, as well as two singers who helped make Cinematic Eastwood’s best album to date: Hugh Coltman, who sang its exquisite version of the Gran Torino theme and Camille Bertault, whose gossamer cover of Michel Legrand’s ‘Moulins de mon Cœur’ is one of the album’s high points.

Line-up : Kyle Eastwood (cb, b), Hugh Coltman (v), Camille Bertault (v), Andrew McCormack (p), Quentin Collins (t, bugle), Brandon Allen (s), Chris Higginbottom (dms)
